Our project is to make an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) in OCaml. This project was given to us by our school of computer engineering, EPITA.
The name of the project was the result of hours of thinking, but we came finally to an agreement on LMAOCR.
The project schedule is split in two parts, each part referring to each of the presentations we will have to make before the end of the semester. The first presentation will happen on Monday, October 21. And the second presentation will be done on Monday, December 9.
For the first presentation all those points will have to be completed :
- Loading the image and making the pretreatment of them (binarization, noise removal…)
- Rotate the image with a given angle
- Detecting the angle
- Detecting the text zones
- Start of the line, character and paragraph split of the text
- Presentation of the neural network with a proof of concept
